Scottish singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Griogair Labhruidh is a contemporary, experimental recording artist strongly rooted in tradition. Coming from a long line of Highland musicians, his music stems from a quest to express his insights about spirituality, belonging, nature, and creativity in a modern musical context, while paying homage to his Scottish heritage in his own personal way. Griogair is uniquely able to traverse largely untrodden ground combining Gaelic music with influences as eclectic as Funk, Soul, African music, Hip Hop, and Jazz.

Mid Carolina High School Band Concert

We hope you will join us for a night of wonderful music with the Mid-Carolina High School Rebel Regiment Concert Band! These students meet every day for an hour and a half to study and perform a wide range of sophisticated literature for wind band. Featuring music from Percy Grainger, Randall Standridge, David Holsinger, and others. Conducted by Mr. Connor Shadday, Director of Bands and featuring Guest Conductor Ms. Katie Waters, Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Bands at Mid-Carolina Middle School. Newberry College Jazz Big Band

The Newbery College Jazz Big Band has a long, storied tradition. It serves as the keystone for the Newberry College Jazz Festival that takes place every March and has been running for over 60 years. The Jazz Big Band, led by Dr. Jerry Gatch, traditionally ends each academic year with a “graduation concert” right before commencement. Come and hear them finish off another school year with some jazz favorites as well as contemporary compositions.
