A Thousand Horses is an American rock band that captures the grit and resilience of the human experience through thunderous guitars and cinematic choruses. Founded by Michael Hobby, Bill Satcher, and Graham DeLoach, the group first found massive success with their Platinum certified breakout hit “Smoke,” which made history as the highest charting debut for a new artist on the Country Aircheck radio chart. Having grown up in Newberry, South Carolina, where Hobby and Satcher began writing songs together at the age of fifteen, the band maintains a raw and honest connection to their roots even as they have conquered major stages across the United States and Europe. Now operating as a fully independent outfit under their own Highway Sound Records, the band has evolved into a formidable modern rock force known for an untamed sound and an electrifying live show.

With their latest album, White Flag Down, the band has delivered their most personal and heaviest project to date. This record serves as a defiant testimony of emotional survival, exploring themes of divorce, recovery, and the hard won journey of healing after a period of intense personal change. Instead of leaning into acoustic melancholy, the band chose to turn up the amplifiers, fusing their signature Southern rock storytelling with nineties inspired guitar anthems. Featuring the thundering single “Dead Man Walking” and the bombastic collaboration “Shadows” with Aaron Gillespie, the album showcases a bold reinvention for the group. Now expanded to include drummer Nathan Sexton and guitarist Adam Browder, A Thousand Horses continues to prove that rock and roll still matters by delivering music that is loud, honest, and completely reborn.
