Prepare to be amazed and fascinated as “The Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience” leaps onto the stage at Newberry Opera House on Sunday, April 21 at 2pm and 6pm. This exhilarating show promises to be an evening filled with jaw-dropping stunts, heartwarming moments, and some of the most talented dogs you’ve ever seen.

Led by husband-and-wife duo Chris and Suhey Perondi, “The Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience” is a one-of-a-kind performance that showcases the incredible abilities of man’s best friend. It is the nation’s most booked dog act with over 1,000 shows produced a year between the Perondi’s six nation-touring teams. This production has been featured on “The Tonight Show,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

Before the accomplishments and the creation of this incredible experience that has stolen hearts all over the world, Chris Perondi was training dogs in the 1990’s as a hobby.

Chris says, “I sold my house, quit my IT computer job, bought an RV, and hit the road. I’ve been producing shows since 1999. I created the Stunt Dog Experience in 2009 after being featured on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and developed our 90-minute theater program.”

Audience members can expect a wide array of impressive tricks and stunts performed by these furry stars. From high-flying frisbee catches to gravity-defying jumps, the athleticism and agility of these dogs are sure to leave audiences in awe. The dogs are trained to do these stunts through positive reinforcement with the use of a clicker, treat, and toy motivation. When selecting dogs to perform the stunts, the Perondis and their team look for special qualities.

“We look for dogs that are focused on playing with toys and respond to us even with distractions,” Chris states. “In our award-winning dog training book, we call this tunnel vision. Of course, we love to see dogs that are jumpy and have some bounce along with being people-friendly.”

Not only does the show have incredible physical feats, but also displays moments that highlight the special bond between dogs and their human companions. One of the most remarkable aspects of “The Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience” is the dedication and love that Chris and Suhey Perondi have for their canine troupe. These dogs are not just performers; they are beloved members of the Perondi family.

Chris expresses, “The dogs are our pets and kids, they live indoors with us and sleep with us. We are extremely attached and bonded with them. They are treated like family and trained with lots of love.”

Whether you’re a dog lover, or simply looking for a fun night out, this show is sure to leave you with a smile on your face as well as a newfound appreciation for the intelligence and talents of dogs. After seeing “The Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience,” there are a few things Chris and Suhey Perondi hope audience members will take away.

“Our mission is to encourage people to spend more time with their pets, teach them something new, and please consider adopting your next pet from a shelter,” Chris says.
