The national touring production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, presented by CMI Entertainment and Entertainment Central Productions, is bringing its holiday magic to the Newberry Opera House stage. This spectacular, faithful adaptation features a talented national cast, stunning period costumes, and beautifully sung traditional carols that will fill theatergoers of all ages with the true spirit of Christmas.
The first annual Opera-tion: Hauntober brings a free day of Halloween excitement to the Newberry Opera House with festive costume contests and interactive lobby activities. Sponsored by Carolina Comfort, the event features a unique backstage ghost walk hosted by Newberry College alongside special big screen presentations of Hocus Pocus and The Shining.
The Newbery College Jazz Big Band has a long, storied tradition. It serves as the keystone for the Newberry College Jazz Festival that takes place every March and has been running for over 60 years. The Jazz Big Band, led by Dr. Jerry Gatch, traditionally ends each academic year with a “graduation concert” right before commencement. Come and hear them finish off another school year with some jazz favorites as well as contemporary compositions.
