Tab Benoit
Thursday, April 18 @ 8:00 pm
Event Details
Hailing from the vibrant bayous of southern Louisiana, Tab Benoit stands out as one of the most remarkable guitarists in recent times. Even before his soulful, Otis Redding-style voice fills the air, his distinctive guitar tone is instantly recognizable. Notably, Benoit doesn’t rely on elaborate effects; his setup is refreshingly straightforward—a guitar, a cord, and a Category 5 Amplifier. The effects that captivate your ears are masterfully crafted by his skillful fingers.

Tab Benoit stands as a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and guitarist, forging an impressive 30+ year career rooted in gritty and soulful Delta Swamp Blues. Throughout his journey, he has cultivated a dedicated fan base and earned numerous accolades, including 5 Blues Music Awards, two BB King Entertainer of the Year awards, and an esteemed induction into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

Yet, Benoit’s musical achievements are only part of his story. He is equally recognized for his unwavering commitment to the environmental well-being of the wetlands in his native Louisiana. As the founder of Voice of the Wetlands, he leads efforts to preserve the coastal waters of his home state. In acknowledgment of his environmental contributions, he received the Governor’s Award for Conservationist of the Year from the Louisiana Wildlife Federation in 2010. Notably, Benoit played a prominent role in the iMax motion picture “Hurricane on the Bayou,” a documentary shedding light on Hurricane Katrina’s impact and advocating for the protection and restoration of the wetlands.
