John Waite is a British-born rock star, singer, and songwriter whose career has spanned over four decades of chart-topping success as a solo artist and band frontman. He first achieved international fame in the late 1970s as the lead vocalist and bassist for The Babys, scoring Top 20 hits like “Isn’t It Time” and “Every Time I Think of You.” Transitioning to a solo career in the 1980s, Waite reached the peak of global pop success with his iconic Billboard Hot 100 number-one single “Missing You” from his platinum album No Brakes. Shortly after, he fronted the late 80s supergroup Bad English alongside members of Journey, topping the charts once again with the timeless power ballad “When I See You Smile.”

Throughout his extensive career, Waite has maintained a reputation as one of rock and roll’s most passionate live performers, seamlessly navigating hard rock, country, blues, and acoustic folk. His prolific discography includes collaborations with artists ranging from Alison Krauss to Matchbox 20 guitarist Kyle Cook, as well as stripped-down projects like his Wooden Heart acoustic anthology series. Driven by a deep connection to honest storytelling and live performance, John Waite continues to record new music and tour globally, delivering his signature raw vocals and timeless hits to generations of fans.
