For over 500 years, the Vienna Boys Choir has captivated audiences around the world with its pure, angelic sound and rich musical tradition. Founded in 1498 by Emperor Maximilian I, the choir has roots in Vienna’s Imperial Chapel, where it once sang exclusively for the royal court alongside composers like Mozart and Bruckner. Reestablished in 1924 as a private, nonprofit organization, the choir has since grown into an international symbol of choral excellence, touring globally and performing with renowned orchestras and conductors.

Today, the Vienna Boys Choir operates its own music-focused school in Austria, where 100 boys between the ages of nine and fourteen receive intensive academic and musical training. Divided into four touring groups, the choir gives roughly 300 concerts each year, sharing a timeless repertoire that blends classical masterworks with traditional Austrian folk songs. Their legacy is not only heard in concert halls but also preserved in hundreds of recordings, films, and educational outreach programs like “Superar,” ensuring future generations have access to music’s transformative power.
