A: For the safety and comfort of all patrons, the Newberry Opera House strictly prohibits the following items:

  • Outside food or beverages (including cans and glass containers)
  • Weapons, firearms, pepper spray, knives, blades
  • Camera and Video equipment, tripods, selfie sticks
  • Large bags (small purses are acceptable, but all bags are subject to search)
  • Laser pointers, glow products, noisemakers, whistles, fireworks
  • Tobacco products, including e-cigarettes or vape pens.
  • Chewing gum
  • Stickers
  • Contraband, drugs, or illegal substances
  • Unauthorized marketing materials, pamphlets, flyers, or promotional items
  • Animals, except service animals
  • Signs, banners, flags, balloons, or hats that may obstruct the view of others.
  • Oversized umbrellas, strollers, or items that could block aisles (may be checked at the entrance). However, handicapped-accessible items are permitted.

Newbery Opera House prohibits weapons of any kind including, but not limited to, firearms, pocket/utility knives or other cutters. This applies to every individual, even those with concealed weapons permits (CCW).
