NOH Guild Oyster Roast

The Cile and Bobby Barber Memorial Oyster Roast has become one of the most beloved annual traditions in Newberry, bringing together friends, families, and supporters of the arts for an unforgettable evening. Guests enjoy petite and flavorful South Carolina oysters straight from Bowen’s Island, paired with a variety of savory dishes, desserts, wine, and beer. Set outdoors along McKibben Street and in the Opera House Courtyard, the event offers the perfect atmosphere to savor great food, listen to live music, and celebrate community spirit, all while supporting the mission of the Newberry Opera House.

Hosted by the Newberry Opera House Guild, this fundraiser does more than serve oysters. Since 2004, the Guild has been dedicated to creating vibrant cultural opportunities by funding performances and arts programs for the community. Their Oyster Roast, alongside raffles, sales, and other events, plays a vital role in sustaining the Opera House’s artistic legacy. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the Guild invites everyone to join in fellowship and fun, ensuring that the arts remain accessible and celebrated in Newberry for generations to come.
