The Newberry Opera House Guild was created in 2004 to offer financial support to the Opera House and help promote its endeavors throughout the Midlands. The Guild meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Opera House.

The Guild is open to anyone with an interest in helping to raise funds to support the performing arts at the Opera House, and in helping to educate and enliven the surrounding communities through the arts. Guild members pay an annual membership fee of $40 (new members under the age of 30 pay a Young Member fee of $20). This fee helps support the work of the Guild which includes organizing 2-3 major fundraising events each year. In recent years, these events have included an annual Oyster Roast, Luau, a 50/50 raffle, tag sales and more. 

While the Guild’s mission is steeped in the work of raising funds, the organization is a welcoming one that succeeds because of its collegial spirit and abiding philosophy of cooperation and inclusiveness. This spirit grows from the philosophy that the arts make a community whole and should be available to one and all.

 50/50 raffle

The Newberry Opera House Guild's 50/50 Raffle will be conducted throughout the year to allow the community to enjoy the fun of building the raffle pot. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $10. They are available at the Opera House. 

Winner takes home 50% of the total collected for that collection period! The other 50% goes to support the Newberry Opera House Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit. Thank you for your support!

Drawing: There will be three rounds of raffles this season. The next drawing will be held at the Righteous Brothers performance on June 7, 2019. You do not have to be present to win. Good Luck!

Join the ladies of the Guild in making your own fascinator hat for the Derby Party ($25 ticket includes supplies) or buy one of the ready-made ones for only $20. All funds raised go to the decorations for the Derby Event. Contact a Guild member for more info.

Firehouse Conference Center

Watch the Kentucky Derby at 6:50 P.M. on the big screens at the Firehouse Conference Center. Dress up, wear a fascinator, enjoy goodies and games. Beverages and food included in $50 ticket price. Great items in the silent auction, too!
