Pedro Sanchiz was driven to create Tango Argentina in order to bring freshness to the genre while preserving the discipline of the traditional style. He has tour extensively after receiving his master’s degree in Folk Dances and Tango. 2018’s “Tango in the Shadows” premiere received rave reviews and together with fellow lead Ivana Ayala they headlined a show called “Sabor a Tango” in Buenos Aires.
Ivana Ayala is a professor of Argentine Folk Dance and Tango. She has directed new works everywhere from Tokyo to the Canary Islands as well as being assistant director and choreographer for the Ayala Tango Company alongside her brother.
Tango Argentina’s main choreographer and director, Marcos Ayala is a former champion of the Tango World Championship. He has received two Latin Ace Awards for his choreography, one for his career and the other for his work “Tango Lover,” which was considered one of the best musical shows of 2015. He has premiered his work everywhere from Israel to Finland and beyond.
The live music of Tango Argentina is performed by Tango Bardo, a tango quartet made up of Juan Miguens on double bass, Lucas Fumo on violin, Santiago Polimeni on bandoneon, and Hugo Hoffmann on piano.
