Jamie O’Neal got her start as a sought-after songwriter later with a very successful solo career. She got her start at a very young age where she traveled the U.S. performing at fairs, conventions and even as a opening act. Her family moved to Nashville where she soon got a deal with GMI records as a songwriter under producer Harold Shedd. She sang back up for Clay Davidson and Ronnie Milsap and wrote songs simultaneously while she wrote songs that were sang by Lee Ann Rimes and Chely Wright. However, she did not sing any of her songs until 1998 when she struck a deal with Mercury records to sing her own songs. She started in 2000 with the release of her 3-time Grammy nominated debut album, Shiver. In 2005 she released her second album, and then in 2014 she released her third album, Brave, she since then has performed at various music venues nationwide. She now comes to the Newberry Opera House for an unforgettable performance.
