The Newberry Opera House Guild was created in 2004 to offer financial support to the Opera House and help promote its endeavors throughout the Midlands. The Guild meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Opera House.
The Guild is open to anyone with an interest in helping to raise funds to support the performing arts at the Opera House, and in helping to educate and enliven the surrounding communities through the arts. Guild members pay an annual membership fee of $35 (new members under the age of 30 pay a Young Member fee of $20). This fee helps support the work of the Guild which includes organizing 2-3 major fundraising events each year. In recent years, these events have included an annual Oyster Roast, Luau, vendor fair entitled A Fair to Remember, a 50/50 raffle, tag sales and more.
While the Guild’s mission is steeped in the work of raising funds, the organization is a welcoming one that succeeds because of its collegial spirit and abiding philosophy of cooperation and inclusiveness. This spirit grows from the philosophy that the arts make a community whole and should be available to one and all.

A Fair to Remember
The Second Annual A Fair to Remember will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Newberry Academy. The A Fair will feature nearly 40 vendors including Schwantes Pottery, Carolina Pride Pastures, Jewel Box Junkie, the Classy Cruet - Olive Oils and Vinegars, Me and My Man's Metal Smithing, Carolina Photo Studio, Staci's Scentsations, LuRaRoe, ByJenniLee home decor, and Chloe and Isabel, as well as many more, offering a wide variety of creative artisan gifts and crafts There will also be presentations on everything from decluttering your life (Candy Waites from Seniors on the Move,) to channeling your inner creative instincts (Diane Henkler of In My Own Style), and others. The theme of this year's fair is An Old Tyme Ice Cream Social, so come prepared to indulge in all-you-can-eat sundaes and other refreshments. And because ice cream melts, we want to make sure there are treats to take home as well, so there will be a good ol' cake and pie auction. Admission tickets are now on sale and are $10 and $5 for students of all ages. Tickets for the sundae bar are $5.

This event is a vendor event so look for a confirmation e-mail from the event coordinator to confirm your application. If for any reason you are not selected for this event, your vendor fee will be returned. Don't forget space is limited so make sure to return your vendor form to the Newberry Opera House at 1201 McKibben St. Newberry, SC 29108 soon. You can even pay your vendor fee online below. Make sure to still submit a vendor application even if paying fees online.
The Raffle pot is growing and is now up to nearly $3,000. The winning ticket, entitling the holder to half of this pot o' green, will be drawn on March 17, 2017, at 10 p.m.m during Newberry's Spring Fling. Tickets are $5 and are being sold right up until the drawing. Tickets are available by clicking below, at the Opera House Box Office, or from any Guild member. The bigger the pot, the more you could win, so keep buying those tickets. Stay tuned for lots of updates about the raffle. Winner need not be present to win.
