Presented by Doug & Bunny Williams
Flat Out Strangers headline this special afternoon of gypsy jazz swing, live dancers and toe tapping tunes.
This show celebrates the Swing Era that swept through the U.S. and Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. The music and dance were inseparable; to keep up that tradition, swing dancers will accompany the show. Although the music and dance of the Swing Era have faded from popularity, like the music of the Beatles in the 1960s, it will always be around because of its beauty and genius—and more importantly—it’s fun! The music features the gypsy jazz band “Flat Out Strangers” and Doug and Bunny Williams with fiddler Jim Graddick. Old friends, Richard Durlach and Breedlove, are bringing in dancers from the Palmetto Swing Dance Association to strut their stuff and add excitement to the event.
