Since opening its doors in the historic French Quarter to the public in 1961, the iconic Preservation Hall's goal has been to keep traditional New Orleans jazz in the spotlight.  The band is doing just that under the auspices of current director Ben Jaffe, the son of founders Allan and Sandra Jaffe.  The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has toured the country for more than 25 years to bring the distinctly American form of music to contemporary audiences.  Basin Street Blues, Go to the Mardi Gras, I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate, Sweet Substitute, Short Dress, Shake That Thing, and When the Saints Go Marching In.
