founding fathers' work and reflects the traditional values of soul and
musicianship. Bluegrass Band of the Year Award 2010, Bluegrass Music

From
his work with bluegrass innovators like Jimmy Martin and J.D. Crowe in the
late 1960s to the formation of his band Quicksilver, Lawson has been
synonymous with high-octane acoustic music. Equally comfortable with
both the progressive and traditional strains of bluegrass, Lawson's one
unifying element has been quality. "Lawson is considered one of
the most influential forces in modern bluegrass," wrote Randy Pitts
in Music Hound Folk. "His bands are marked by their extremely
well-honed vocal harmonies and bright, powerful renditions, especially of
gospel material." A first for the Opera House - his

a soulful, authentic voice and a remarkable guitar-picking style rarely
heard in music today. Watson is one of the last in a generation of
folk, bluegrass and old-time musicians that included Bill Monroe, Lester
Flatt and Clarence Ashley. Since finding a huge audience during the
folk revival of the late 1950s and early '60s, Watson has been honored
with six Grammys, a National Medal of Arts, a National Heritage Fellowship
and a lifetime achievement award from the Recording academy. Watson
will be joined by Grammy winning banjo great David Hold, host of the North
