It is almost that time friends, the eclipse is upon us! Here at the Opera House we have been working hard and staying busy to ensure that the weekend is not one to miss. Come join us August 18-21st for this four-day-long festival!
Newberry is in the path of totality and will experience a total eclipse, about two and a half minutes of darkness, as the moon passes between Earth and the sun. Visitors from all over will be joining us to watch this scientific yet human event. We figured we would help make this weekend one for the books by co-hosting the Eclipsefest with our fellow Newberry organizations! This celebration will be stuffed full of activities for the whole family, delicious food, live music and more!
Each month, we borrow our resident ghost’s name for a list of Top 19 during our 19th season. The season is winding down, but we still have some great shows left. We tried to match performers from our 19th seasons who are most like our upcoming events. Which one of these is like the other one? Maybe you will find a favorite and come help us wrap up our 19th season.
March Madness has officially arrived. And yes as excited as we are about it being basket ball’s biggest month, it is actually one of our biggest months here at the Opera House as well. We have 26 shows in the 31 days of March… Can you say March Madness?
1) “When I Fall In Love” reached #7 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the AC chart. The Lettermen will sing it like it is the first time they fell in love all over again on January 20 at 3 & 8.
2) 2014 IBMA Album of the Year, Papertown, was about Balsam Range’s hometown of Canton, NC. Listen for the title song when they appear on January 27 at 8pm.
